Born in July 27 1986, Komatsu Ayaka read fashion magazines since third grade and dreamed of becoming a model. Because of where she lived she thought that it was impossible, but later on saw an application for CANDy (a Japanese fashion magazine) and decided to try her luck and apply. She succeeded and since then has modelled a lot for CANDy and still does. Her first acting role was in the movie Odoru daisosasen the movie 2: Rainbow bridge wo fusaseyo! where she only had a very small role.
Ayaka's break as an actress came with Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (PGSM). As most of us already know, she starred as Aino Minako / Sailor Venus. The role brought more fame to Ayaka, who also got to try her hand at singing since her character is a singer/idol. Out of all five lead actresses Ayaka was the one to have most songs featured on the show.
After the end of PGSM, Ayaka has continued to model and also released more merchandise such as photobooks and DVDs. She is also starring in a new movie called "A perfect day for love letters".
